Return-of-capital treatment is not something a token issuer can simply label into existence; U.S. tax characterization depends on the legal entity, earnings/profits, basis and the actual distribution. Qualified corporate dividends can receive preferential rates for eligible taxpayers, while token staking/reward distributions may be treated differently.
